The brief was to transform a part of Mr. Marvis HQ office into a temporary (1 year) shop / showroom. The former office space was cluttered;  wires where running everywhere, old characteristics of the monumental canalhouse were preserved and shown in an inconsistent way, a lot of different materials and colors where used and so on. We wanted to “clean-up” the space, make space for some of the old characteristic details, and above all show the colourful shorts in a nice way. The structure needed to be easy to disassemble as well. For this reason we wanted that all materials could be recycled or reused, leaving zero to almost no trash.

The construction budget was very limited: 4000 €.

We invented a simple system of paper tubes to make walls and tables. The tubes are placed in a computer sawn timber module and continue all over the shop in various heights. The paper tubes are a reference to the textile rolls. The white tubes fragmentate the walls and follow and exaggerate the rhythm and various color palette of  Mr. Marvis shorts.
